Sicily Luminarie Festival

2025 Edition

From August 12 to 16, 2025, Cianciana hosted the second edition of the Sicily Luminarie Festival, one of the most impressive ever held, with over 500 illuminated structures and more than 100,000 light bulbs illuminating the village's historic center in the province of Agrigento.

The inauguration on August 12 opened at 6:00 PM with the parade "Questi siamo noi, gioia sulla terra", accompanied by the local marching band, the Tammura di Girgenti, and the Sikania Folk group. In the evening, the conference "Luce alle tradizioni popolari" was held at the ancient cloister of the Friars Minor, with the participation of a delegation from Scorrano (Puglia), the world capital of luminarie. The night continued with the hot air balloon launch, musical parades towards the Clock Tower Staircase, and the light show "Ballino i sensi", featuring dancing lights synchronized to music.

In the following evenings, the choreographic lighting and the "Dance of Fire" show in Piazza Aldo Moro were repeated, while the light installations remained active in an immersive and participatory way until August 16. The event, which was free to attend and held under the patronage of the Ministry of Tourism, confirmed Cianciana as one of the leaders in the Platani Valley for the promotion of Sicilian lighting traditions.
