Edition 2025 — Sicilian Identity Festival
The 2025 Sicilian Identity Festival was held in Camastra (Province of Agrigento) on July 19 and 20, divided between daytime sessions in the Town Hall and evenings in Piazza Garibaldi.
Saturday opened with greetings from Mayor Dario Gaglio and continued with the presentation of the book "Haiku-fu" by Max Bancheri, a speech by Prof. Alfonso Gambacurta (University of Catania) on Sicilian as a living language, a reflection on food autonomy, and a speech by Prof. Massimo Costa (University of Palermo) on the future of small communities. In the evening, Piazza Garibaldi hosted musical performances with local artists.
Sunday's program featured speeches on Camastra's identity, the vulnerability of the Sicilian language, and a closing session with dance and music. Throughout the event, the square hosted artisanal stalls and local products, with free admission.
