Edition 2025 — Sheep Festival

On Saturday, August 23, 2025, Piazza Roma in Poggio Nativo hosted the Sheep Festival organized by the local Pro Loco. Over a thousand people gathered in the center of the Sabina village to taste mutton-based menus, with the inevitable charcoal-grilled arrosticini as the stars of the evening. One of the most popular evenings of the summer in Poggio, featuring shared tables and music.

The evening of August 23, 2025

The 2025 edition of the Sheep Festival took place on Saturday, August 23, in Piazza Roma, in the center of Poggio Nativo, in the province of Rieti. As per tradition, the organization was handled by the Pro Loco of Poggio Nativo, which set up food stands and open-air dining tables in the village's main square.

Participation, according to the organizers, exceeded one thousand people, with visitors arriving from all over the Sabina area and the Roman region. The menu revolved around mutton: arrosticini cooked over charcoal, traditional local pastoral dishes, and seasonal side dishes, accompanied by local wines.

The simple and well-tested formula confirmed the festival as one of the most anticipated gastronomic events of the summer in the town, alongside the historic Ciambella Festival in mid-August.
