Serenate nel Borgo

The 2025 edition of Serenate nel Borgo took place on Thursday, August 21, 2025, in the historic center of Crognaleto, in the province of Teramo. Starting at 5:00 PM, the village alleys turned into an open-air laboratory animated by musicians, singers, and dancers.

The heart of the evening was the re-enactment of the wedding serenade, with singing, dancing, and interaction with the audience to reconstruct the various phases of the ancient wedding ritual. The performances relied on traditional instruments such as the zampogna, the taccarella (silent wooden tambourine), the crolla, the vurravurre (goatskin friction drum), and the dubbotte (diatonic accordion).

In the historic center, a vintage object exhibition was set up by Prof. Daniela Di Ferdinando, while food stalls offered traditional sandwiches and local beverages. The event, conceived by Gianni Quaranta and organized by the Pro Loco of Crognaleto (president Cesare Quaranta), featured the participation of folk groups from the La Torre cultural association of Torricella Sicura and the Compagnia della Pescara.
