Edition 2025 — Black Madonna - September Descent
The 2025 edition of the September descent confirmed the extraordinary popular participation in this Lucanian tradition. On the first Sunday of the month, after the pilgrims' overnight vigil on the Sacred Mount, the Black Madonna of Viggiano descended at dawn in procession to the Pontifical Basilica, accompanied by thousands of faithful. The return of the Patroness of Basilicata turned into a grand celebration with religious services and musical events, crowning one of the region's most beloved anniversaries.
