Scroppella Festival

The 2025 edition of the Scroppella Festival took place on August 5th in Castelvetere in Val Fortore, in the Province of Benevento, confirming the date that the Pro Loco has maintained for several years. The festival featured the distribution of the sweet fritter traditionally prepared for Shrove Thursday, bringing it into the heart of summer when the Sannio village repopulates.

For this edition, no detailed program of times and appointments was released, and no public documentation remains: local sources merely confirm the annual recurrence of the festival and its roots in the Castelvetere community. The year 2025 was, however, decisive behind the scenes: it was during that period that the documentation work for the product was consolidated, which later led to the application accepted by the Campania Region in March 2026 with the inclusion of the scroppella in the PAT list.
