Edition 2025 — Screppedde
The 2025 Screppedde Festival took place on December 19th in San Marco in Lamis (FG), following the tradition of the Gargano town's rich Christmas calendar. The initiative, coordinated by the municipal administration together with associations, confraternities, pastoral communities, schools, and merchants, accompanied the community from December 9th until January 6th.
The undisputed stars were the screppedde, the typical fried pastry made with flour, potatoes, and salt, served hot and covered with powdered sugar or honey. Around their preparation, between the churches and bakeries of the historic center, the community ritual that unites taste, memory, and the devotion linked to the legend of Saint Anastasia was renewed.
Programme
The tasting of screppedde took place on December 19, 2025, as part of the San Marco in Lamis Christmas calendar (December 9 - January 6), amidst nativity scenes, concerts, workshops for children, and living nativity scenes. The fritters were prepared and distributed at the town's churches and bakeries, according to local tradition.
