Seventy years of CNGEI secular scouting told through images at the Disarò Auditorium
In the municipality of Cesano Maderno (Province of Monza and Brianza, Lombardy), the Disarò Auditorium hosts "Scout in exhibition", the exhibition with which the local section of the CNGEI (National Corps of Italian Boy Scouts and Girl Guides) celebrates seventy years of secular scouting in Brianza, from 1956 to 2026.
The photographic exhibition documents the history of the association through archive images and documents, retracing seven decades of camps, adventures, and educational commitment. It is a journey into the memory of generations of scouts who, in Cesano Maderno and Brianza, have made secular scouting a school of values, autonomy, and citizenship.
"Scout in exhibition" is not just an exhibition: the program includes the presentation of a book dedicated to Agostino Andermark, a central figure in local scouting, a debate on the contemporary role of scouting, and events designed for children, such as animated readings in the Municipal Library inspired by The Jungle Book. The celebrations conclude with a duck race on the Seveso river, in memory of Giovanna Barindelli. An opportunity to discover a piece of educational and associative history of the Brianza region.
The CNGEI represents the secular and non-denominational component of Italian scouting, and its presence in Cesano Maderno since 1956 testifies to a history of educational commitment that spans entire generations. For seventy years, boys and girls have experienced outdoor life, autonomy, respect for nature, and active citizenship, according to a method that focuses on "knowing how to do" and taking responsibility. The exhibition celebrates this journey by showcasing, through photographs and documents, the face of an educational community that has left a profound mark on the social fabric of the city and the Brianza region.
The exhibition "Scout in exhibition" is held at the Disarò Auditorium in Cesano Maderno from April 8 to 12, 2026, to celebrate seventy years of CNGEI secular scouting in Brianza. The photographic exhibition retraces the history of the section from 1956 to today through archive images. Inauguration on Wednesday, April 8 at 7:00 PM with a guided tour and reception. The program includes the presentation of the book on Agostino Andermark, a debate on scouting, readings for children, and the duck race on the Seveso.
