Edition 2025 — Scottish Festival
The Scottish Festival of Pizzoferrato is a recently created event: the first edition took place in June 2026. In 2025, the event had not yet been launched, and there is no documented edition for this date.
The festival was born in the Municipality of Pizzoferrato, in the province of Chieti, in Abruzzo, to celebrate Scottish traditions with bagpipes, Highland dancing, and whisky tastings, while also highlighting the village's historical bond with the British Major Lionel Wigram, who fell here in February 1944 and is remembered as one of the inspirations for the Maiella Brigade. It is from this memory and the desire to open the small mountain village to international cultural tourism that the idea of a festival affiliated with the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society took shape.
