The first edition (2025)
The Schnalstal Alpine Trail debuted from July 24 to 27, 2025, in Unser Frau / Madonna di Senales, in the municipality of Senales/Schnals (BZ), bringing about 300 runners to compete among the glaciers and high-altitude trails of Val Senales, the valley of Ötzi.
The races started as scheduled on Friday and Saturday, but a sudden deterioration in weather conditions forced the organization to intervene on the routes. The flagship race, the 58 km ULTRA with approximately 3,630 meters of elevation gain, started on Saturday morning at 4:00 AM but was suspended at 8:00 AM at the Vent refreshment point in Austria for safety reasons: only the 32 athletes who had already passed that threshold were allowed to continue on a modified course. A challenging debut that nonetheless established the event as a new reference point for South Tyrolean trail running.
