Edition 2025 — Schignano Carnival

The 2025 edition of the Schignano Carnival renewed its age-old rites in the Valle Intelvi: the wooden masks, the clash between Bei and Brut, the flight of the Carlisep, and the final bonfire on Shrove Tuesday attracted visitors and lovers of Alpine folklore to Piazza San Giovanni in Occagno.

In 2025, the Schignano Carnival once again celebrated one of the most authentic rites of the Alps, in the hamlet of Schignano within the Municipality of Centro Valle Intelvi, Province of Como. The parades staged the traditional contrast between the elegant and vain 'Bei' and the 'Brut' dressed in rags and soot.

Shrove Tuesday saw the culmination of the festival's key moments: the flight of the Carlisep, the puppet embodying the Carnival, and the final bonfire that concludes the time of excess. An edition that confirmed the vitality of a tradition proudly passed down by the community of Valle Intelvi.
