Santissimo Crocifisso Festival

The 2025 edition of the Santissimo Crocifisso Festival confirmed its tradition in Forza d'Agrò (Messina) on September 14, 2025. The day opened with liturgy in the cathedral and the Solemn Holy Mass, followed by the evening procession of the Crucifix, the 14th-century painted panel, carried through the narrow streets of the medieval village.

Along the route, balconies were adorned with traditional red drapes, while the Confraternity of the SS. Trinità, the clergy, and authorities accompanied the image amidst the sound of bells and fireworks. The festival continued with the games of the SS. Crocifisso Palio, shows, and music in the square, in an atmosphere of deep popular devotion and a gathering for the entire community.
