Santissimo Crocifisso Festival of Arnesano

The 2025 edition of the Santissimo Crocifisso Festival in Arnesano was held from July 5th to 13th. The eve of July 5th represented the most intense moment: at the end of the solemn Eucharistic concelebration, presided over by the Metropolitan Archbishop of Lecce, Monsignor Angelo Raffaele Panzetta, the traditional Descent of the Cross from the altar took place, accompanied by the hymn to Jesus Crucified and followed via live television broadcast.

In the following days, the procession, the celebrations of the octave of the cross on July 8th and 12th, and the secular festivities in Piazza Palazzo Marchesale took place, featuring a brass band concert, illuminations, stalls of typical Salento products, and fireworks displays. The festival closed on July 13th with the solemn Ascent of the Cross, which returned the statue to its place on the altar.
