Edition 2025 — Santagatese Carnival

During the 2025 Carnival period, Sant'Agata di Militello did not yet have the current organized format of the Santagatese Carnival, which was relaunched by the Youth Council starting in 2026. However, the city's carnival tradition, with masks and celebrations along the streets of the center and the seafront, has deep roots in the history of the local community and was for years a heartfelt moment of popular gathering.

Carnival in Sant'Agata di Militello in 2025

Before the official relaunch in 2026, Carnival in Sant'Agata di Militello, in the province of Messina, lived mainly in the collective memory of the city: in the past, there had been seasons of parades, floats, and masked groups along the streets of the center and near the seafront, often involving schools.

The true structured relaunch, with an allegorical float parade, street food, and music, arrived with the 2026 edition thanks to the Youth Council and the patronage of the Municipality of Sant'Agata di Militello, which wanted to restore a defining community event destined to grow over time in the heart of the Tyrrhenian Sicily.
