Santa Maria Mater Domini Feast

The 2025 Fraine patronal feast

From May 30th to June 7th, 2025, Fraine celebrated its patron saint, Santa Maria Mater Domini, with a program organized by the Parish of San Silvestro Papa.

On May 30th, the feast opened in the morning with a questua through the village accompanied by the Città di Gissi brass band, and in the evening with the "Pentagramma Live" musical show. On May 31st, the patronal day, the questua with the Città di Chieti brass band preceded the procession to the sanctuary and the open-air mass, followed in the evening by the "Italiano Veramente Moda" concert and a DJ set. On June 1st, the traditional riffa took place on Via del Sole, followed by an evening with a Zucchero tribute band and fireworks.

As per tradition, the feast brought devotees from neighboring towns and Fraine natives back to the village, confirming the strong bond between the community and its sanctuary in the Vicenne woods.

Friday, May 30th

• 8:00 AM — Questua through the village with the Città di Gissi brass band
• 9:00 PM — "Pentagramma Live" musical evening

Saturday, May 31st — Patronal Day

• 8:00 AM — Questua with the Città di Chieti brass band
• Procession to the Mater Domini Sanctuary and open-air Holy Mass
• 9:00 PM — "Italiano Veramente Moda" concert, followed by a DJ set

Sunday, June 1st

• 5:00 PM — Traditional Riffa on Via del Sole
• Musical evening with a Zucchero tribute band
• Fireworks

Religious celebrations continued until June 7th.
