Santa Maria della Lettera Patronal Feast – Torre Faro

The 2025 edition of the Santa Maria della Lettera Feast confirmed the ritual that has characterized the summer life of Torre Faro, a district of Messina, for years. As per tradition, the celebration centered around the penultimate Sunday of August, with Holy Mass and the procession of the patron saint's statue along the streets of the fishing village.

The heart of the festival was once again the nocturnal procession of illuminated boats: the fishing boats, decorated and lit by torches, paraded on the Strait on the eve of the feast, from the Pilone towards the church, in a stunning tribute to the Madonna. The evening was accompanied by exhibitions and art installations dedicated to maritime trades, musical bands that paraded through the village streets, and, at the end, traditional fireworks reflected on the waters of Capo Peloro.
