Edition 2025 — Madonna della Grotta

In 2025, the Santa Maria della Grotta Festival in Carpignano Salentino took place on July 2nd and 3rd. July 2nd, the day dedicated to the religious dimension, featured a solemn mass and a procession with the statue of the Madonna della Grotta through the village streets, accompanied by the town band and the participation of the faithful. On July 3rd, the civil festival brought the town to life with artistic illuminations, folk music concerts, Salento food stalls, and a final fireworks display.

2025 Edition

The 2025 Santa Maria della Grotta Festival in Carpignano Salentino (province of Lecce, Puglia) was held on July 2 and 3, according to the tradition linked to the apparition of the Virgin in 1568.

The first day, July 2, was dedicated to religious rites: the solemn mass and the procession with the statue of the patron saint along the streets of the center, accompanied by the town band. On July 3, the civil festival brought artistic illuminations, band and folk music concerts on the bandstand, stalls with Salento gastronomic specialties, and a concluding fireworks display to the town.
