Edition 2025 — Santa Liberata

On August 18, 2025, Sperlinga renewed its devotion to Santa Liberata with the traditional procession through the village's historic center. The day, one of the most heartfelt of the summer, drew numerous faithful from the town and nearby Nicosia, from where pilgrims arrived to participate in the festival. The celebration was part of the rich summer program that, a few days earlier on August 16th, featured the Tortone Festival and the Historical Pageant of the Lady of the Castles.

The 2025 Santa Liberata Festival in Sperlinga

In 2025, Sperlinga once again celebrated the Santa Liberata Festival on August 18th, with the solemn procession winding through the streets of the village perched at the foot of the rock-hewn castle. The devotion, born in the 1920s from a grace received by workers of the State Road 120, brought together the community of Sperlinga and numerous pilgrims from Nicosia, in one of the most well-attended religious events in the Enna hinterland.

The festival ideally closed the week of summer celebrations in the town, which began on August 16th with the Tortone Festival and the Historical Pageant of the Lady of the Castles of Sicily, confirming Sperlinga as one of the most vibrant villages in the province of Enna during the height of summer.
