Edition 2025 — Santa Filomena

In the summer of 2025, Piaggine once again renewed its most deeply felt festival: the feast of Santa Filomena, celebrated as per tradition on August 23rd in the upper part of the Cilento village. The procession with the saint's statue, brass band music, illuminations, fair stalls, and final fireworks brought emigrants, families, and vacationers back to the village, in a late August that in Piaggine has always coincided with the busiest time of the year.

The 2025 edition of the Santa Filomena Festival

In 2025, the Santa Filomena festivities in Piaggine (province of Salerno, Campania) took place according to the traditional scheme, with the saint's feast day set for August 23rd and the festival period preceded by the historic Santa Filomena Fair in the upper part of the village.

As every year, the village was decorated with lights, stalls lined the streets of the procession, and the band accompanied the saint's statue through alleys and stairways, up to the final fireworks. A community festival, free and open-air, which closed a summer full of events in the heart of the Cilento, Vallo di Diano and Alburni National Park, at the foot of Monte Cervati.
