Sant'Oronzo Festival

The 2025 edition of the Sant'Oronzo Festival in Muro Leccese (LE) took place between August 25th and 27th, with the highlight on August 26th, the patron saint's day. The community of the Salento village gathered to pay homage to its protector in a festival that combined devotion and popular joy.

The religious heart was the procession of the statue of Sant'Oronzo along the streets of the historic center, accompanied by the clergy, authorities, and the faithful. The secular part enlivened the evenings with light displays, brass band performances, folk music concerts, and pizzica, along with food stands featuring typical Salento dishes and the final fireworks display. Admission to all events was free.

2025 Festival Schedule (August 25 - 27)

• Religious rites — Holy masses, celebrations in honor of Sant'Oronzo, and the solemn procession of the statue through the streets of the historic center on the patron saint's day (August 26).
• Light displays — Artistic illumination of the village squares and streets.
• Music — Brass band concerts, folk music evenings, and Salento pizzica.
• Gastronomy and market — Food stands with typical Salento dishes, market stalls, and craft markets.
• Fireworks display — Fireworks to close the festivities.
