Sant'Oronzo Festival

The 2025 edition of the Sant'Oronzo Festival was held in Lecce from August 23rd to 27th, following the tradition of patronal festivities honoring Saints Oronzo, Giusto, and Fortunato.

On August 24th, the solemn procession of the statues of the three saints took place from the Cathedral through the historic center, accompanied by the lighting of artistic illuminations. During the festival days, events included mass at the Sant'Oronzo fuori le mura sanctuary, the pontifical mass in the Cathedral, and a rich calendar of civic events: the lyrical-symphonic concert by the Lecce and Salento Orchestra (OLES), the concert by Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino, and, on August 26th in Piazza Sant'Oronzo, Paolo Belli & Big Band.

The festival was enlivened by Apulian bands in the bandstand, a fair with specialties like scapece and cupeta, a funfair at the stadium, and fireworks at midnight on August 26th at Masseria Grande. The conclusion, on August 27th, was held at the San Cataldo marina with pizzica music and a fireworks display over the sea.

August 24th

August 25th

Mass at the Sant'Oronzo fuori le mura sanctuary; concert by Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino; popular fair.

August 26th

Solemn pontifical mass in the Cathedral; concert by Paolo Belli & Big Band in Piazza Sant'Oronzo; at midnight, fireworks display at Masseria Grande.

August 27th

Closing evening at the San Cataldo marina with pizzica music and fireworks over the sea.
