Sant'Oliva Festival

The 2025 edition of the Sant'Oliva Festival in Pettineo confirmed the community's deep bond with its patron saint, reaffirming a tradition rooted in 1663.

As per ritual, the festivities unfolded between the relic procession with the blessing of the olive groves, the Calata da Bannera, the evocative 'A Vutata di l'Altari', and the solemn procession of the 18th-century float from 1786. The historical equestrian parade was also a key feature, with riders arriving from Nebrodi towns and more distant centers like Capizzi, along with the dialect poet's verse recitation in Piazza Sant'Oliva. Over the years, the festival has also hosted entertainment and evening concerts to crown the religious days.
