Edition 2025 — Sant'Ippolito Festival
How it went in 2025
On Sunday, October 5th, 2025, Fiumicino celebrated its patron saint, Saint Hippolytus the Martyr, with a day organized by the Fiumicino Pro Loco in collaboration with the Suburbicarian Diocese of Porto-Santa Rufina and under the patronage of the Municipality.
Authorities and the faithful gathered at 5:15 PM at the early Christian basilica of Sant'Ippolito, at the intersection of Via Col Moschin and Via Redipuglia. At 5:30 PM, the procession with the saint's relics began, led by the banners of the Municipality and the Pro Loco and accompanied by the marching band, heading toward the parish of Santa Maria Madre della Divina Provvidenza. At 6:00 PM, the solemn open-air mass was held, presided over by Bishop Gianrico Ruzza, in front of the basilica.
At the end of the celebration, the Agro Isola Sacra association offered sandwiches, drinks, and sweets to those present in the parish grounds, in accordance with a long-standing custom. For the occasion, the basilica extended its free public opening hours until 6:45 PM.
