Edition 2025 — Sant'Euplio Festival

The 2025 edition of the Sant'Euplio Festival took place in Francavilla di Sicilia on August 30 and 31, with great participation from the community and faithful arriving from the Alcantara Valley. On Saturday, August 30, the itinerant historical theatrical re-enactment of the Saint's life was performed; on Sunday, August 31, religious celebrations were held, culminating in the solemn procession of the statue, followed by a concert by the MiVida Band, a lottery draw, and a fireworks display.

The 2025 festivities

The 2025 Sant'Euplio Festival in Francavilla di Sicilia (ME) was spread over two days. Saturday, August 30, the community attended the itinerant historical theatrical re-enactment in two scenes: the first, on a float decorated with period costumes, depicted the Saint spreading the Gospel in Francavilla; the second, in Piazza D'Aquino, portrayed the deacon's arrest, trial in Catania, and death sentence.

Sunday, August 31, the religious festival opened with cannon fire and church bells, morning solemn masses, and the gathering of the Neighborhood Banners and the Confraternity. After the Eucharistic Celebration at the Church of the SS. Annunziata, the procession of the Sant'Euplio statue took place with the relic, the miniature effigy, and the "Euplini." The evening featured a concert by the MiVida Band in the square, a lottery draw, and the customary fireworks display. The event, coordinated by archpriest Don Gerry Currò with the Maria S.S. Addolorata Confraternity, the Pro Loco, the "A Passioni" association, and the "Chiddi da Vina" theater company, was sponsored by the Sicilian Region.
