Edition 2025 — Sant'Ermete Festival

The 2025 edition of the Sant'Ermete Patronal Festival confirmed the traditional format: procession, solemn mass, historical pageant, and Giostra del Gallinaccio with the district Palio, medieval encampment, traditional games, and horse races. Among the musical evenings, the concert by the duo La Cricca stood out, offering international hits and Italian pop songs on August 30th with the fortress of Antonio da Sangallo as a backdrop.

How it went in 2025

In Ischia di Castro, the festivities for Saint Hermes the Martyr took place during the last week of August 2025, re-proposing the program that the village knows by heart: the evening procession with the Sacred Images Bearers Group and the Marching Band, the solemn mass on August 28th with the blessing of the knights, the historical pageant, and the Giostra del Gallinaccio contested by the five districts for the Palio, as well as the medieval encampment curated by the Duchy of Castro Knights Association.

On the musical front, the evening of August 30th featured a performance by the duo La Cricca, consisting of Elena Fratini on drums and Riccardo Bizzi on guitar and vocals, which was highly appreciated by the public despite the storm arriving from nearby Tuscany. The Farnese castle attributed to Antonio da Sangallo the Younger served as the backdrop for the concert, confirming how, in Ischia di Castro, the patronal festival and historical heritage remain inseparable.
