Edition 2025 — Sant'Anna Chess Festival

The 27th edition of the Sant'Anna International Chess Festival was held from August 18 to 24, 2025, with matches also hosted in the evocative setting of the Castello di Giangiacomo dell'Acaya, a fortified village in the municipality of Vernole. The program featured tournaments valid for FIDE Elo rating changes, which attracted chess players from all over Italy to the heart of Salento.

2025 Edition

The 27th edition of the Sant'Anna Festival, organized by the Accademia Salentina degli Scacchi with the patronage of the Municipality of Vernole, was held from August 18 to 24, 2025. The competitions, valid for FIDE Elo rating changes, were set in the Castello di Giangiacomo dell'Acaya, a splendid example of Renaissance military architecture in the Vernole area. The event confirmed the Festival's vocation to combine chess competition with the enhancement of Salento's historical heritage, attracting enthusiasts and competitors from various Italian regions.
