Edition 2025 — Sant'Alfonso Festival
The 2025 edition
In 2025, the festivities in honor of Sant'Alfonso Maria de' Liguori took place as every year around the Via Filangieri parish in Cava de' Tirreni, in the province of Salerno. The Archdiocese of Amalfi-Cava de' Tirreni had announced the event at the end of July, with the novena preceding the day of the festival and the liturgical celebrations in the parish.
The most heartfelt moment was, as per tradition, the procession of the Saint through the streets of the district on August 1st, the liturgical memorial of Sant'Alfonso: the statue carried on shoulders along the decorated streets, stops in front of houses, and the return to the church in the evening, followed by the usual neighborhood celebration moments.
The 2025 edition confirmed the vitality of a neighborhood festival that continues to mobilize volunteers, families, and young people of the parish community, in a Campania where summer patronal festivals remain a pillar of neighborhood identity.
