San Vitale Festival

The 2025 edition of the San Vitale Festival was held in Castronovo di Sicilia, in the province of Palermo, on March 9th, following the tradition that links the Sicani village to its patron saint. The rites opened with the evocative Triumph, the procession of the painting of Blessed Elia illuminated by lanterns and torches, and culminated on the day of the festival with the procession of the effigy carried on shoulders through the village streets, accompanied by the brass band and a large participation of the faithful. In 2025, the bond with the community of Armento, in Basilicata, guardian of the saint's relics, was renewed, and the day concluded with traditional fireworks.
