Edition 2025 — San Trifone

The 2025 edition of the San Trifone Patronal Feast took place in Adelfia from November 1st to 16th, with the highlight days from November 9th to 11th. Between solemn processions, a fireworks competition, brass band concerts, hot-air balloon launches, and the Lamb and New Wine Festival, the historic center of Adelfia-Montrone welcomed thousands of worshippers and visitors to celebrate the patron saint.

Adelfia celebrates San Trifone 2025

From November 1st to 16th, 2025, Adelfia celebrated its patron saint, San Trifone, with the traditional "queen of patronal feasts." After the novena and the enthronement at the end of October, the festivities reached their peak on November 9th, 10th, and 11th.

The historic center of Adelfia-Montrone was lit up with artistic illuminations and hosted prestigious brass band concerts, the "Waiting for San Trifone" White Night, the launching of a hot-air balloon, and the spectacular fireworks competition on November 10th. The Lamb and New Wine Festival was also a major highlight, featuring roasted lamb, nghimmiredde, and typical Puglian flavors.

The most solemn moment was the procession of the sacred image through the streets of the town, preceded by the bidding for the honor of carrying the saint, in a display of popular devotion that has united the Adelfia community for generations.

Saturday, November 8

  • San Trifone Fair along the town streets
  • Historical pageant and banner parade
  • 6:30 PM — XVI "Waiting for San Trifone" White Night

Sunday, November 9 — Eve

  • Novena and religious celebrations in honor of San Trifone
  • Grand wind orchestra concert and tribute to Adelfia emigrants
  • 7:30 PM — Procession of the Painting
  • 8:00 PM — Hot-air balloon launch
  • Lamb and New Wine Festival in the historic center

Monday, November 10 — Solemnity

  • Solemn Eucharistic concelebration presided over by Mons. Giuseppe Satriano, Archbishop of Bari-Bitonto
  • 11:30 AM — Procession of the sacred image; at noon, the handing over of the town keys to the saint
  • 2:30 PM and 9:00 PM — Fireworks competition (approx. 3 hours total, with 5 pyrotechnic firms)
  • Brass band concerts and musical performances in the square

Tuesday, November 11

  • 10:00 AM — Solemn celebration
  • 11:00 AM — Procession
  • 8:00 PM — Second hot-air balloon launch

Sunday, November 16 — Closing

  • 10:00 AM — Final procession and placement of the simulacrum in the niche of the Church of San Nicola

Highlights

Fireworks competition on November 10th with 5 pyrotechnic firms, concerts by traveling bands (including Lanciano, Mottola, Triggiano, Conversano, and San Giorgio a Liri), Lamb and New Wine Festival, "Waiting for San Trifone" White Night, and hot-air balloon launch.

Prices

Patronal feast with free admission. Tastings at the Lamb and New Wine Festival are paid for at individual gastronomic stands in the historic center.
