San Rocco Fireworks

The 2025 edition

In 2025, the San Rocco Fireworks confirmed Ortona's strong bond with this popular tradition. On August 16th, after the morning religious celebrations at the Church of San Rocco and the distribution of San Rocco Bread, the city experienced the evocative nocturnal procession: over three hundred lit candles illuminated the streets of the historic center. The Banda Città di Ortona accompanied the festival with a parade and a concert at Piazza Porta Caldari, while evening shows had taken place at the Aragonese Castle in the preceding days. The grand finale was entrusted to the fireworks launched from the fortress overlooking the Adriatic, a spectacle followed by residents and tourists along the entire seafront.
