San Rocco 2025 in Sant'Agnello

The 2025 edition was unusual. In Sant'Agnello, in the province of Naples, the usual festival dedicated to San Rocco did not take place: in its place, the Municipality organized, on Saturday, August 23rd at 8:00 PM at Largo Recanzo, in the Maiano district, an evening of music, talks, and tastings entirely dedicated to the San Rocco meatball, the sweet-and-sour meatball made with twenty-one ingredients that identifies the village.

Around the discussion table, with Mayor Antonino Coppola and Councilor Marcello Aversa, they talked about the cultural, economic, and tourist value of the recipe and the De.Co. recognition process initiated by the administration. The tasting was accompanied by the show «J so' napulitano e si nun canto moro» by the Cantori Popolari Flegrei, directed by Ernesto Mignano.

The religious moment took place the following day: Sunday, August 24th, at 7:30 PM, with the procession that crossed the town. The 2025 summer municipal calendar did not include an event in Piazzetta Angri for August 16th.
