Edition 2025 — San Rocco and the Mammoccia
San Rocco Festival 2025
The 2025 edition of the Ferragosto festivities in Cervara di Roma brought the historic center of the Simbruini Mountains village to life for several days. The program included a day dedicated to children, musical evenings with food and wine stands in Piazza Umberto I, and the evocative Inchinata procession, accompanied by the band and a fireworks display.
The highlight was August 16th, the day of San Rocco: the statue of the saint with his dog was carried in procession with the La Diana band, followed by fireworks, live music, and a craft market. Late in the evening, the Ballo della Mammoccia took place, with the papier-mâché puppet escorted into the square and danced among the people before being set on fire at midnight as an end-of-summer propitiatory rite.
