Edition 2025 — San Nicolò Politi

In May 2025, Alcara li Fusi once again renewed its devotion to its patron saint, San Nicolò Politi, with the spring festival commemorating the 1503 miracle of the rain. Between the May 1st pilgrimage to Acqua Santa and the solemn procession on May 3rd, the Nebrodi village experienced days of intense participation, alternating liturgical moments in the Mother Church with evenings of music and celebration in the square.

The May 2025 edition confirmed the traditional structure of the festivities in Alcara li Fusi. On May 1st, the faithful went on a pilgrimage to Acqua Santa, at the foot of Mount Calanna, while on May 3rd, after the solemn Holy Mass in the Mother Church, the statue of the patron saint was carried in procession through the village streets.

Alongside the religious rites, the program included the customary musical entertainment by the brass band and evening events in the square, in a festive atmosphere that every year attracts faithful and visitors to the Messina municipality who are attached to the tradition of the hermit saint of the Nebrodi.
