Edition 2025 — San Lorenzo Gallery Night

The first edition of the San Lorenzo Gallery Night took place on September 20, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM. The four galleries in the San Lorenzo district of Rome—Monitor, Matèria, Gilda Lavia, and Monti8—jointly inaugurated their new autumn season exhibitions, transforming the neighborhood into a single, free evening art itinerary.

The San Lorenzo Gallery Night debuted on September 20, 2025, in the San Lorenzo district of Rome. The initiative was born spontaneously from the desire of four galleries in the neighborhood—Monitor, Matèria, Gilda Lavia, and Monti8—to open the autumn exhibition season together, creating a 'critical mass' and showcasing the district's creative energy to the public.

From 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM, visitors were able to walk through the neighborhood streets, moving from one gallery to another to discover new exhibitions and meet artists and curators. The evening, with free admission, confirmed San Lorenzo as one of the contemporary art hubs in the capital of Lazio. Later that same year, the galleries repeated the format with a second evening before the Christmas break.

Programme

The four galleries opened simultaneously from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM:

  • Monitor: the debut of artist Diogo Pinto, with a simultaneous opening in Rome and Lisbon.
  • Matèria: «Non abbiamo più misteri», a sculptural installation by Wang Yuxiang, along with a window project by Miranda López Ortega.
  • Gilda Lavia: the group exhibition «A Journey Inward – Urban Rumors», curated by Lorand Hegyi.
  • Monti8: photographic works by Pacifico Silano.
