San Giuseppe Festival

The 48th edition of the San Giuseppe Festival was held in San Cassiano from March 19 to 22, 2025, with the highlight on Saturday, March 22. As per tradition, the community collected grain, oil, wine, and other local products door-to-door to prepare the thirteen dishes for the San Giuseppe tables, which were blessed by the parish priest and consumed at the foot of the focàra, the bonfire made of bundles of wood. The evening of March 22 was enlivened by pizzica circles and the concert by Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino, during their tour celebrating fifty years of activity for the historic Salento group. In 2025, the festival was once again confirmed as part of the Ruràlia project of the Parco dei Paduli, with leftover products donated to the needy.
