Edition 2025 — San Giuseppe a Mare

In the summer of 2025, Letojanni once again renewed the San Giuseppe Sea Feast, confirming a tradition that returned to life after twenty years of suspension. The day of the first Sunday of August featured a morning mass in the church, an evening Eucharistic celebration on the beach of Piazza Angelo D'Arrigo, and the stunning procession of the statue by boat, accompanied by a parade of local fishing vessels, ending with a prize draw and fireworks.

The 2025 San Giuseppe Sea Feast

The community of Letojanni, on the Ionian coast of Messina, celebrated its summer patronal feast in 2025 as well. The main day, the first Sunday of August, opened with Holy Mass in the church in the morning, continuing in the evening with the Eucharistic celebration on the beach of Piazza Angelo D'Arrigo.

Following this was the most anticipated moment: the sea procession, with the statue of Saint Joseph transported aboard a boat and accompanied along the coast by a procession of fishing and private vessels. The evening concluded with a prize draw and a fireworks display on the promenade. In the preceding days, the program alternated between religious events, traditional games, tournaments, and social gatherings, following the formula that weaves together faith, maritime tradition, and village life.
