The 2025 summer festival in Morciano di Leuca

In 2025, the San Giovanni Elemosiniere Festival once again enlivened the center of Morciano di Leuca during the last ten days of July, attracting locals and numerous tourists vacationing in the Capo di Leuca. The most heartfelt moment was the solemn procession with the saint's silver bust and reliquary through the town streets, accompanied by solemn masses in the Mother Church dedicated to him.

On the secular side, the avenue from Via del Mare to the Mother Church was lit up with traditional domed illuminations, while the brass band entertained the days with concerts at the bandstand. There was no shortage of the greasy pole in its summer version, market stalls with typical Salento products, and fireworks that closed the festivities, confirming the festival as one of the most beloved traditional events in lower Salento.
