San Gimignano International Opera Festival

The 90th edition of the San Gimignano International Opera Festival was held from July 18 to 27, 2025, as part of the "Accade d'Estate" program. It was a significant edition, celebrating ninety years of one of Italy's oldest open-air opera festivals.

The program featured three titles from the grand repertoire: Don Pasquale by Donizetti and Tosca by Puccini in Piazza Sant'Agostino, and the traditional Suor Angelica in the evocative Pieve di Cellole, a symbolic venue for the festival and the Puccinian legacy. The performances attracted opera enthusiasts to San Gimignano from all over Italy and abroad, confirming the international vocation of the event.
