Edition 2025 — San Giacomo in Bellino

In July 2025, Bellino celebrated the San Giacomo Patronal Festival in the Chiesa hamlet. Among the events, on Saturday, July 26th, the San Giacomo Festival Committee hosted a cultural meeting under its marquee dedicated to the Occitan translation of the novel "Bàrnabo delle montagne" by Dino Buzzati, confirming a festival that intertwines devotion, conviviality, and Occitan identity.

The 2025 edition of the San Giacomo Patronal Festival took place in Bellino, in the upper Valle Varaita, around July 25th, the patron saint's day. The celebrations were held in the Chiesa hamlet, the heart of the municipality around the 15th-century parish church.

Among the cultural highlights of the festival, on Saturday, July 26, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM, the meeting "The silence of the mountains, the ancient sound of the Alps: rereading Dino Buzzati in the Occitan language" was held under the marquee set up by the San Giacomo Festival Committee, dedicated to Bàrnabo d'es mountanhes, the Occitan translation of Dino Buzzati's famous novel. The meeting, moderated by Matile Deferre, featured Marco Perale, president of the International Dino Buzzati Association, and experts in Occitan language and culture, Dario Anghilante and Dino Matteodo. Alongside the cultural events, the festival offered, as per tradition, a solemn mass and moments of conviviality for the community.
