San Gerardo Maiella Festival

The 2025 edition of the San Gerardo Maiella Festival took place on Sunday, August 31, 2025, in the San Gerardo hamlet of Piedimonte Etneo (Catania), as part of the municipal summer program "Sotto il Vulcano". The preparatory triduum led to the festival Sunday, featuring the solemn Eucharistic celebration and the procession of the saint's statue through the decorated and illuminated village streets.

Alongside the religious dimension, the community renewed its popular traditions: the characteristic auction of livestock and local products, the salsicciata with sandwiches, bruschetta, and corn, concerts, and grand fireworks displays. The previous evening, Saturday, August 30, the "883 Tribute" concert was held in Piazza San Gerardo, a highly attended musical highlight of the summer program.
