San Gaetano Livestock Fair

A fair with a long history

The San Gaetano Livestock Fair, known to everyone as the Rogoredo Fair, is one of the longest-running agricultural events in the Lecco Brianza. It takes place in Rogoredo, a district of Casatenovo in the Province of Lecco, and has decades of editions behind it, a sign of a deep bond between the town and its peasant tradition.

Livestock and market

The heart of the fair is the livestock exhibition, which attracts breeders and visitors from all over the area each year, alongside the large market that winds through the town's streets — via San Gaetano, via Foscolo, and via Volta — with dozens of stalls and exhibitors. Alongside the animals, there is space for agricultural machinery, crafts, food stands, and moments of music and entertainment.

Organization

The event is organized by the Cooperativa Il Trifoglio, in collaboration with the Municipality of Casatenovo, which each year publishes the tender for the allocation of commercial pitches. A teamwork that allows a tradition rooted in the agricultural vocation of Brianza to be kept alive.

The meaning of the celebration

In an increasingly urbanized territory like the area between Lecco and Monza, the San Gaetano Fair remains a bastion of memory and identity: it is the moment when the community of Casatenovo comes together around its peasant origins, amidst the mooing of animals, the smell of the countryside, and the joy of a great village festival.
