San Gaetano Festival – Vaste

The 2025 San Gaetano Festival took place in Vaste, a village of Poggiardo, on August 7th, the liturgical day of the patron saint. The community gathered around its parish church, dedicated to Saint Cajetan of Thiene, for religious celebrations and the traditional procession of the saint's statue along the streets of the Messapian village.

The event was part of the summer calendar "Sere d'Estate 2025", through which the municipal administration of Poggiardo enlivened Poggiardo and Vaste during the summer months. In the festive climate typical of Salento patronal feasts, the village was illuminated with artistic lights and welcomed residents, returning emigrants, and visitors in an event that renews the community's bond with its roots and the ancient history of Vaste every year.
