Edition 2025 — San Francesco Marathon

The San Francesco Marathon 2025 brought hundreds of runners to Assisi for the classic distances — marathon, half marathon, and 10 km — plus non-competitive events open to families and animal lovers. A scenic route through the Franciscan sites of Assisi, Spello, and Cannara, with start and finish in the area of the two great basilicas of Assisi.

The 2025 Edition

In 2025, the San Francesco Marathon once again combined sport and spirituality in the Franciscan lands of Umbria. The event offered the 42 km marathon, the half marathon, the competitive and non-competitive 10 km, and events for families and animals, with a start near the Basilica of Saint Francis and a finish at Santa Maria degli Angeli.

The course, set amidst olive groves and hills, passed through the villages of Assisi, Spello, and Cannara, confirming the race as one of the most picturesque running events in the region.

Distances offered in the 2025 edition:

  • Marathon 42 km
  • Half marathon 21 km
  • 10 km competitive and non-competitive
  • "Vieni con me" walk for families

Route through the Franciscan sites of Assisi, Spello, and Cannara; finish at the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli.
