Edition 2025 — San Francesco di Paola Festival

In August 2025, Marzamemi celebrated its patron saint, San Francesco di Paola, with traditional maritime festivities held in the middle of the month. The program confirmed the sea games at the Balata port in the afternoon (greasy pole and boat race), the solemn sea procession of the Saint's statue escorted by fishermen's boats, and, in the evening, shows and midnight fireworks. A festival highly attended by residents and tourists.

2025 Edition

The 2025 edition of the San Francesco di Paola Festival took place in Marzamemi (Pachino, province of Syracuse) in mid-August, according to the tradition that links the festival to the third week of the month. The day followed the usual ritual: in the afternoon, sea games at the Balata port with the greasy pole and boat race, then the departure of the statue from the church in Piazza Regina Margherita and the sea procession of the patron saint of fishermen, escorted by a parade of boats and fishing trawlers. In the evening, shows, entertainment, and fireworks at midnight over the sea. The festival, organized by the Parish together with the Pro Loco Marzamemi and the Municipality of Pachino, attracted numerous faithful and tourists to the seaside village.
