San Filippo d'Agira Festival

The 2025 edition of the San Filippo d'Agira Festival in Piazza Armerina confirmed the great popular participation that characterizes the Casalotto district feast. After the Saturday afternoon firriata, on Sunday the saint's statue and reliquary arm were carried in procession by the district's youth along the traditional route, from the Casalotto district to the historic center and back. Children dressed as peasants with baskets of produce preceded the float, in homage to San Filippo's role as protector of farmers. Upon returning, the district welcomed the saint with a shower of rose petals from balconies and fireworks, amidst music and moments of popular celebration.
