San Famiano Festival (Patron Saint of Gallese)

The 2025 edition of the San Famiano Festival took place according to tradition, from July 17th to August 10th, with its peak during the four central days of August. The local press of the Tuscia region gave particular prominence to the Bengalata of August 7th, 2025, the rain of fire that descends from the Crenelated Walls when the statue of the patron saint, carried in procession, returns to the historic center of Gallese.

As every year, the program included the evening procession from the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta to the Sanctuary of San Famiano, the solemn mass at the saint's tomb, the processions on August 8th with the participation of the Zitelle, the historical pageant in Renaissance costumes, and the Corsa alla Stella at the "Dino Nelli" Municipal Stadium for the awarding of the Palio di San Famiano to the six districts. On August 9th, the ancient Livestock and Goods Fair was held, followed by the concert of the "Città di Gallese" Music Band, while on August 10th, children's games and the footrace closed the festivities. The organization was handled by the San Famiano Festival Committee together with the parish community and the Confraternity.
