Edition 2025 — San Falco

In 2025, Palena once again renewed the feast in honor of its patron saint, San Falco, on January 13th. The community gathered in the church of Saints Antonino and Falco for the solemn mass, the display of relics, and the distribution of cotton wool rubbed against the saint's silver bust, following a tradition that has been repeated unchanged for centuries in the Maiella village.

On January 13, 2025, the village of Palena, in the province of Chieti, celebrated the patronal feast of San Falco, the Calabrian-born hermit venerated as a miracle worker and exorcist. The celebrations were held in the church of Saints Antonino and Falco, guardian of the silver reliquary bust that houses the saint's skull.

The day followed the customary devotional structure: solemn mass, display of relics, and distribution to the faithful of small bags of cotton wool rubbed against the silver bust. An intimate event deeply rooted in the identity of the Palena community, which gathers around its protector every year.
