Edition 2025 — San Damiano Fair

The 2025 edition of the San Damiano Fair brought the Middle Ages back to Montesegale, with the historical re-enactment in the castle, the investiture of Count Gambarana, the medieval market, and tastings of Salame di Varzi DOP. A day of history and flavors in Oltrepò Pavese.

In 2025, the San Damiano Fair once again animated the village of Montesegale with its historical re-enactment set against the backdrop of the medieval castle. Costumed figures and historical groups recreated scenes of medieval life, culminating in the investiture ceremony of Count Gambarana.

Along the village streets, the ancient medieval market offered local products and tastings of Salame di Varzi DOP and De.Co. products, while jesters, crossbowmen, and swordsmen punctuated the day with dances, challenges, and skill competitions. This was a free-entry event organized by the Pro Loco of Montesegale.
