Edition 2025 — San Basilio Fair

The 2025 edition of the San Basilio Fair marked the consolidation of the event's return to Tortorella, with two days concentrated in the sports field area. Alongside the livestock exhibition, agricultural equipment, and typical products of the Cilento hinterland, the program focused on two prominent names in Southern folk music: Mimmo Cavallaro on July 31st and Enzo Avitabile with the Bottari on August 1st.

In 2025, the San Basilio Fair confirmed that the recovery effort initiated by the municipal administration of Tortorella, in the Province of Salerno, was not an isolated episode. The two days of July 31st and August 1st reprised the historic structure of the fair: the eve dedicated to conviviality and music, and the following day reserved for the exhibition of livestock, rural tools, and local produce in the sports field area.

On August 1st, at 11:00 AM, the public conference «The San Basilio Fair: Ritual and Mediterranean Culture» was held, featuring Mayor Nicola Tancredi and local scholars, dedicated to the anthropological significance of the fair and its link to local pastoralism.

On the musical front, the evening of July 31st was entrusted to Mimmo Cavallaro, one of the protagonists of Calabrian tarantella and Grecanic tradition; on August 1st, it was Enzo Avitabile with the Bottari who closed the event with their fusion of contemporary groove and ancestral percussion from the Campanian tradition.
