Sampietrano Carnival

The 2025 Sampietrano Carnival had its highlight on Sunday, March 2, with the masked parade open to everyone through the streets of San Pietro Vernotico, in the province of Brindisi. The procession started in the early afternoon from Via Lecce and crossed the main streets and squares of the center — including Piazza del Popolo and Via Brindisi — ending in Piazza Domenico Modugno.

Along the route, costumed groups and individual masks enlivened the day with confetti, streamers, and music stations. At the end, the awards ceremony recognized the most original and creative group, the most beautiful mask, and the most fun mask.

The town's Carnival calendar had kicked off a few days earlier: on Wednesday, February 26, the ASD Dialetto Sampietrano association hosted a party dedicated to the community at the multipurpose center for the elderly.
